Aging2.0 (@agingtoo, #aging2) is a global network of innovators working in the 50+ market. We are creating an interdisciplinary, collaborative community of people from business, research, policy, design and technology, together with older adults themselves in order to advance innovation and improve the quality of life.

Our events bring people together informally over drinks and good discussion. We generally start off with some 'big picture' perspectives, have a networking break, and then have pitches from startup companies in the space.

Parking: Parking permits are not required after 4 pm, so parking is (thankfully) relatively simple. There is a parking lot at the corner of Serra and Galvez. There are also other lots just east on Galvez or South on Serra. Street parking is also available on both streets.  Here is a parking map (Gunn is in square G10).

An award-winning designer, product entrepreneur and CEO of Raaya Design, Rupa Chaturvedi works with companies and entrepreneurs to create products  and services that generate new revenue streams and brand relationships.Her designs have won her international recognition including the Red Dot Design and GOOD Design Awards.  

Prior to founding Raaya, she has worked in the Technology and Product  Engineering industries and founded successful business ventures in the  Information Design, Web Applications and Content Design space. She has  been instrumental in launching several successful service brands and  worked for global consulting firms such as Aptech, Fujitsu, Veritest and  Wipro. ODAT (One Day At A Time) empowers the caregiving process through products aimed that enhancing productivity, independence, quality of life and social connectivity. ODAT is an initiative by Raaya Design aimed at 'humanizing technology'. It is Raaya's endeavor to leverage natural user interfaces in problem solving and enrich the users' technology experience. 

David L. Jaffe - Stanford University, Mechanical Engineering Design Group, Instructor: ENGR110/210 Perspectives in Assistive Technology

David L. Jaffe teaches Perspectives in Assistive Living at Stanford University. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.  

Prior to coming to Stanford, he was a Research Biomedical Engineer at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System's Rehabilitation Research and Development Center. At the VA his interests were designing, developing, testing, and bringing to market microcomputer-based devices for veterans with disabilities including communication, mobility, and information systems. He has worked on several VA assistive technology research projects including an innovative wheelchair interface for individuals with quadriplegia, an electro-mechanical fingerspelling hand that serves as a communication device for people who are deaf/blind, a system that explores virtual reality techniques to train individuals with gait deficits to improve their walking, and a project that employs a computer-based simulation system to assess and improve the driving ability of individuals after brain injury.

Suneel Ratan - Founder and CEO of Care Architecture 

The Care Architecture technology and services platform enables a scalable, sustainable, replicable Village model for aging in place.

Suneel Ratan started Care Architecture after seven years in home telehealth with Health Hero Network, later acquired by Bosch. Suneel led a Medicare demonstration project of telehealth-based care coordination that showed substantial reductions in costs and mortality among high-risk, high-cost beneficiaries with complex chronic conditions. Care Architecture’s vision of community-based social networking and commerce to support seniors across a continuum of needs also reflects his diverse experiences. Those include serving as a TIME and Fortune Washington correspondent, founding a teen-oriented online service, and being part of the founding team of a large online gaming site for Electronic Arts. He has a bachelor degree from Columbia University and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Sherwin Sheik Founder and CEO of CareLinx (@CareLinx)

CareLinx is a secure online caregiving community. The mission is to empower those in need of in-home care to easily find, video interview, run background checks, hire and manage caregivers that match their specific needs and budget online.

Sherwin received his BS in Management Science from UC San Diego and an MBA from UCLA Anderson. Prior to founding CareLinx, Sherwin worked and invested in the health care industry for over ten years. His health care experience is very diverse, ranging from the bio-pharmaceutical industry, healthcare investment banking to a healthcare analyst and trader for a $900 million Hedge Fund.

Rajiv Mehta - Founder and CEO of Unfrazzle

Unfrazzle is an app that helps reduce family caregivers' mental stress, by helping them to remember and keep track of their everyday caregiving tasks, and to stay aware of each others' activities.

Rajiv Mehta develops technologies to empower individuals and family social networks to better understand and manage their own health and wellbeing. His latest product is Unfrazzle. He is also a co-organizer of the Quantified Self, a global movement of people using and creating tools for self-tracking and self-learning; a board member of the Family Caregiver Alliance, a leading advocacy and support non-profit;  and an advisor to firms seeking to utilize or develop self-tracking and personal care technologies. Rajiv is an experienced entrepreneur, executive and consultant, with 25 years of experience leading disruptive technologies and new business creation for Adobe, Apple, Interval Research, NASA, Symbol Technologies and several startups. He studied at Princeton, Stanford and Columbia.
